Handmade quilts

A well lit and brightly decorated hospice room. A colorful new quilt is placed on the bed.
Handmade quilts are placed on the beds in our inpatient unit to create a warm, welcoming and homelike atmosphere for every patient. Our homecare patients receive them at times as well. These quilts brighten their day and offer comfort. Knowing that someone thoughtfully made them with care and intention for hospice patients often makes them a treasured family keepsake to cherish are remember their loved one.
Handmade quilts for hospice patients should be throw-size (approximately 50×60 or 60×80) so they fit comfortably on our beds. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any used or gently used quilts.

Comfort shawls

Comfort shawls are knitted or crocheted with deep intention and are created as the maker continually focuses on offering warmth, peace and heartfelt blessings to the person who will receive them. Some recipients have continued the kindness by passing it onto someone else in need of some blessings and comfort but many keep them as treasured keepsakes of the time they spent with their loved one in their final days.
We have specific guidelines for these shawls and require certain yarn to ensure they are soft and comfy for the recipients. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any used or gently used shawls.

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients, all other donations must be approved before they can be accepted.
